"Closer To Nowhere" is a testament to Chernobyl Jazz Club's commitment to exquisite craftsmanship and sonic innovation.
From the raw energy of "Believe" to the defiant anthem of "Take a Stand," Chernobyl Jazz Club pushes musical boundaries and challenges conventional genres. The EP's captivating melodies and evocative lyrics offer listeners a glimpse into the band's unique artistic vision.
"We wanted to create an album that takes listeners on a journey," says Hreidar, drummer. "With 'Closer To Nowhere,' we aimed to push the limits of rock and metal music while delivering an emotional and immersive experience."
"We're excited to share 'Closer To Nowhere' with our fans," says Amalía, singer. "We poured our hearts and souls into this album, and we can't wait for listeners to experience the emotional journey it offers."

Behind the songs:
1. Take a Stand: "Take a Stand" is a rallying cry for social change and standing up against injustice. With powerful lyrics and an anthemic chorus, this track embodies the spirit of resistance and empowerment. It urges listeners to raise their voices and fight for a better world.
2. Bonerbois: "Bonerbois" delves into themes of materialism, objectification, and transactional relationships. The lyrics portray a narrative where individuals offer financial security and material wealth in exchange for companionship or affection. The title itself may be a play on words, suggesting a group of individuals who prioritize material gain over genuine connections.
3. Hourglass: "Hourglass" takes listeners on a journey through themes of mortality, accountability, and the consequences of one's actions. The lyrics depict a sense of impending doom and the realization of mortality as time runs out. It portrays a journey from darkness to redemption, with the protagonist confronting their own mortality and the repercussions of their past deeds.
4. Believe: "Believe" delves into themes of control, manipulation, and the allure of false promises of safety and salvation. The lyrics caution against blindly following charismatic figures who offer false promises of security, urging listeners to embrace critical thinking and skepticism in the face of manipulation and control.

Recorded at Studio Helviti, "Closer To Nowhere" was mixed and engineered by the great Helgi Durhuus. The EP was mastered by Sigurdór Gu?mundsson at Skonrokk Studios.
The album design for "Closer To Nowhere" was crafted by Hreidar & Uffe Steffensen - US-Design, perfectly capturing the essence of the band's music and vision.
